From Library Visits to Writing: Stephanie’s Journey

Some kids had baseball cards. I had a library card—and I used it like a passport to magical worlds.
Every week, I walked three blocks to the public library and picked out eight books—the maximum allowed. I’d carry them home like treasure, my return dates stamped with pride. It wasn’t just reading. It was time travel. It was spellwork. It was belonging.
Those books raised me—and eventually, they called me to write my own.
I’m Stephanie Mueller, a fantasy author writing for curious minds and big dreamers—readers who believe that quiet kids can carry powerful magic and that wonder still hides in the wild places.
My upcoming series, The Chronicles of the Wardens of Magic, follows guardians who protect magical items, care for extraordinary creatures, and help preserve the delicate balance of magic. It’s middle-grade fantasy filled with mystery, ancient secrets, and the deep kind of courage that doesn’t always shout.
But the magic doesn’t stop there.
I also write whimsical picture books and short stories for younger readers. My Everyday Chaos series transforms ordinary moments into exaggerated, hilarious adventures full of heart. From runaway socks to grocery store quests, these stories celebrate the joy in the mess. And if you like your winter tales cozy and enchanted, you’ll love Wish Upon a Snowball—a snowy storybook dream with an undercurrent of courage.
Writing is my way of giving back to the stories that shaped me. It’s how I explore wonder, spark laughter, and offer a little hope when the world feels heavy.
When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me traveling, playing board games with friends, trying new recipes, or creating something crafty just for the joy of it. I’m grateful every day for the support of my husband, Tim, and the circle of family and friends who believe in the magic right along with me.
Thanks for visiting my corner of the realm. Whether you’re here for dragons or dinner disasters, you’re always welcome at my table.
